Your experience includes:

• A high school diploma or GED; technical degree or certificate in a related field is preferred

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience using Wire EDM machines

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; self motivated, organized and detail oriented

• Ability to set up, program and run Wire EDM machines and inspect parts to produce parts from prints working with minimal supervision

• Familiarity with or willingness to quickly learn Mastercam and Esprit software is a benefit

• Ability to utilize SolidWorks to create and update models and prints is a benefit

• Ability to manage 2-3 wire machines, process work to meet delivery dates, maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving and math skills.

• Strong attendance record and enjoy a fast paced work environment

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task while working under tight deadlines with the ability to quickly modify work tasks based on changing schedules and needs

About your new job

As a Wire EDM Machinist at ATS you will produce parts using our Mitsubishi Wire EDM machines and verify quality requirements with CMM and Optical Vision tools to supply parts for our customers and our manufacturing team. You will modify your schedule throughout the day as changes to the flow of work and availability of material and prints are available. In this position you will:

• Produce parts per prints and supplied specifications

• Be responsible for verifying parts meet extremely close tolerance dimensions, alignments, clearance and specifications

• Utilize G&M codes, MDI Programming and Conversational as well as Programmable Controls to perform tasks

• Perform tool changes and offsets

• Perform challenging setups

• Utilize micrometers, calipers, gauges and inspect work against prints and/or CAD Model

• Work with our customers, project managers, engineers and manufacturing team to supply parts and solutions to their needs in an environment that is constantly changing to meet scheduling needs

• Review routings and make recommendations to improve the machining of parts

• Become familiar with and utilize ATS processes and software to perform the required work

• Continuously looks for innovative ways to improve processes, reduce waste, increase throughput and productivity, improve efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction

• Supply your own basic machinist tools
